Bugulminsky liqueur and vodka plant was built in 1904 and at that time it was called "Public wine warehouse".
Alcohol that was the main raw material for the plant was received from Aleksandrovsky Distillery (50 km away) and Petrovsky Distillery (120 km away). Alcohol was carried in barrels by horses. Glass-ware washing, bottling and packaging were manual.
In the years of Revolution vodka production was stopped and it was resumed only in 1923.
In the late 1950-ies – early 1960-ies the plant began to be mechanized. Rotary bottle washing machines, filling machines and quality control machines were installed.
In the late 1970-ies – early 1980-ies rotary bottle washers were replaced by bottle washing machines AMM-6 with the productivity of 6000 bottles per hour. Automatic filling, corking, quality control and labeling machines were replaced by more modern ones.
In 1985-1990 during the period of "Dry law" vodka production reduced greatly and the plant began to produce nonalcoholic drinks (aerated water).
In 1995 the leaders of the plant – the director V.N. Loktev, the head of the production laboratory L.A. Arkhipova and the chief engineer F.Yu. Gatin worked out new kinds of produce: vodka "Bugulminskaya" (alc. 40%), liqueur "Bugulminskaya Ryabinka" (alc. 20%) that are very popular with consumers.
Nowadays the output of the plant is 6000 decalitres per day.
