State Unitary Enterprise Kazansky Liqueur and Vodka Plant was founded in 1971. And in September 1975 Kazaners were able to taste the produce of the plant. Today Kazan Distillery produces 2,145 thousand decalitres of vodka and distillery production a year and 628 thousand decalitres of wine, winy drinks and cognac of seasoned cognac alcohols a year.
During 25 years of the plant functioning several rearrangements have been carried out and now it is technically equipped enterprise. Four filling lines are supplied with the equipment of “Vir Mauri” Ñompany (Italy) (filling, labelling machines, vertical conveyers for lowering the bottles).
In 1998 the new bottlery with the output of 12,000 bottles per hour was put into operation and it is completely supplied with the equipment of “Vir Mauri” Ñompany.
During the last 3 years capacitive equipment of the liqueur and vodka department has been replaced by the equipment made of stainless steel.
According to the decree of the State Committee of Estate Administration of the Republic of Tatarstan dated December 16, 1998 Kazan Winery was incorporated in the plant. In 1999 the production of wine and winy drinks started. After the modernization at the end of 2000 the department producing Champagne and sparkling wine, wine and low alcohol drinks was put into operation. The output of Champagne producing department is 2 mln bottles (with the capacity of 0.75 l) a year. The range includes sparkling wine semi-dry, semi-sweet; Soviet and Russian Champagne: brut, dry, semi-dry, semi-sweet and sweet one.
The capacity of the department producing low alcohol drinks (8-9% alc.) is 36,000 decalitres a year. The capacity of wine producing department is 484,800 decalitres per year. The range includes table wine, fortified wine, and vintage wine.
M.M. Roitzaid, I.M. Zaripov, V.N. Novoseltsev, V.E. Savkin worked as the directors of the plant in their time. At present time the director of the plant is V.V. Khodorkovsky.
The range of produce is various. It includes vodkas, special vodkas, bitter and sweet liqueurs, cognacs, winy drinks, wine, balsams – everything is meant for every, even the most sophisticated taste and event – be it a festival, a jubilee, a holiday.
Vodka produced by Kazan Distillery with its pure, soft taste has become the most popular one in Tatarstan and beyond its bounds. The alcohol used for its production is made only from first-quality grain. The water undergoes double refinement, softening and demineralization. The vodka is processed through filtration batteries filled with active birch charcoal that gives it purity and special softness. Fragrant alcohols used for production of special vodkas are made of natural components: juniper berry and lemon and this gives them unique aroma and freshness. Natural raw material growing on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan as well as beyond its bounds is used in production of liqueurs and balsams.
Another important factor that makes it possible to create wonderful, magically unique in taste drinks is the soul, the knowledge, the experience and surely small secrets of the plant experts who skillfully combine the secrets of ancient recipes and the nicety of the most modern technologies.
