Shumbutsky spirit plant is one of the oldest alcohol producers in the Republic of Tatarstan. It was founded in 1738 by the merchants Stakheyevs and in the 18th – the beginning of the 19th century the plant produced 3000 pails (decaliters) of alcohol per annum. Nowadays having retained the best traditions and using the experience of several generations of distillers Shumbut Distillery produces 480,000 decalitres of alcohol a year or 1,500 decalitres a day.
Reequipment of the enterprise made it possible to increase the production volume, to find new solutions for complex processing of grain raw material according to nonwaste technology, to improve its position at the markets of Russia and Tatarstan.
Ethyl alcohol is one of the main products and kinds of raw material that are necessary for others productions. It is used in medical, pharmaceutical, alcoholic beverage, wine and other industries of national economy. Alcohol contains microscopical amounts of different admixtures (aldehydes, ethers, higher spirits and other chemical compounds) that give it typical taste and aroma depending on the kind of the processed raw material.
It was not by chance that the merchants Stakheyevs chose the building site for the plant near the spring that was later called “Saint spring”. Spring water used in the production possesses unique properties and has a favourable action upon the organoleptic characteristics of alcohol.
Using the best production experience the plant produces alcohol of higher purification and of “Extra” grade as well as denaturated alcohol (TU 9182-748-0000-8064-01) that is used in fragrance and cosmetic industry.
To improve organoleptic and physical-chemical characteristics of the produce and to cut down its cost price the enterprise is beginning to use new yeast cultures and enzymes. Taking into account increasing requirements to produce quality the plant laboratories are being supplied with modern monitoring equipment. Since 1999 the plant has been working according to the nonwaste technology of stillage processing and it has mastered the production of supplements to mixed fodder. Fodder supplements are natural products that stimulate the growth of animals and birds and make it possible to get ecologically clean meat product.
Modern technologies and strict observance of health norms make it possible to get high-quality and cheap protein-vitaminous product, the main buyers of which are poultry factories and provender mills of Tatarstan and Russia.
