Tyurnyasevsky spirit plant was built in 1910 in Chistopol district of Kazan province by the progressive noblemen Amosov brothers. It was built as a plant with the capacity of about 1000 pails per day. High-quality production of vodka and wine let the plant export its produce, in France specifically.
During the Revolution the plant was expropriated, vodka and wine production was liquidated and the plant was oriented to production of crude alcohol only. However, at that time and till recently the distinctive feature of Tyurnyasevsky Distillery was melting technology that made it possible to produce alcohol successfully right up to the modernization of the plant.
During the anti-alcohol campaign of 1986-1991 alcohol production was stopped and the productive capacities were oriented to production of fodder yeast and tinned fruit and vegetables.
Before the beginning of the fundamental modernization, i.e. before 1998 the plant had been the only enterprise oriented to production of crude alcohol. The goal of the fundamental modernization is the production of alcohol of “Extra” and “De luxe” grades with the increase of volume production up to 2000 decalitres a day according to the newest alternative energy-efficient technology. The modernization includes the following stages:
-
Mounting of the 5-column rectification unit;
-
Increase in the number of fermentation tanks;
-
Putting in operation the processing line of pure yeast culture preparation;
-
Renovation of cooking room;
-
Building of the new boiler-house, the system of recycling water supply.
